Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry White, CEO of the National Infantry Foundation, said the film hits home.   "I always wondered how my own children felt about growing up Army brats, but they never were able to really tell me," White said.   "This film speaks for them and so many others.   It moved me so much that I've bought copies to send to my son and my daughter and others who grew up in a world entirely different from their peers."

(PressZoom) - 5/30/2007 - DAYTON, Ohio -- A new documentary about growing up in the military will be shown at the National Museum of the United States Air Force on June 15.

The free screening of "BRATS: Our Journey Home" begins at 7:30 p.m.   Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight performs at 7 p.m.   A question and answer session with writer/director Donna Musil immediately follows the screening.   Admission and parking are free.   No tickets are necessary, but seating is limited to the first 1,200 people.

During the film, U.S. military brats share intimate memories about their unique childhoods -- growing up on military bases around the world, then struggling to fit into an American lifestyle with which they have little in common.   Famous brats in the film include retired Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf and singer/actor Kris Kristofferson, who narrates the film and provided original songs to the soundtrack.
